Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character on ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. She was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school when her parents split up to move in Los Angeles to live with her mother. She was struggling to make ends meet when she got her first role in acting in the film Rachel's Room's main character. Her performance in the role of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. movie Murder In Greenwich in 2002, earned her an award nomination for the Young Artist Award. In 2004, Grace was cast as Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost where she was a main cast member for the first two seasons. She was also awarded an award called the Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Grace decided to concentrate on film following her role as Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. In 2007, she starred in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well as, alongside Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills in Taken. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) Replays of these roles. Grace was back on the Lost series in the final two episodes as Shannon. The actress was featured in 2013's six-season of Californication. She portrays Faith who's both the star-gazer and a the girl in the group. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. Being part of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter and elder sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager She began working on small roles with her father. She also appeared in Donnie Darko along with her twin brother. She then appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for both her performances as the main character actress in Secretary (2002) as well as in Sherrybaby (2006), an erotic romance drama drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). The actress was also nominated by the Golden Globe Award. Her fame grew when she portrayed Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercial films that she was a part of in the year 2006. In the wake of her performance that was a hit as a single mother on the screen in Crazy Heart (2009), she earned the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. After that, she went on to star in comedies and dramas like Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (12). Some of her other parts include acting as a Secret Service agent for The Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared as a vocalist in Frank 2014 and as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the lead role. Gyllenhaal's first film as a director and writer came in 2021 when she wrote The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama for which she received the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she received the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
